Hi. My name is Phil, and I’m a full-time DevOps Engineer and part-time dog-whisperer based out of Burlington, Ontario (Canada). I was born on the sun-kissed island of Grand Bahama (The Bahamas), where I spent 17 years of my life. I moved to Canada in 2006 to pursue a degree in Computer Engineering from York University (Toronto). Upon graduation, I quickly started my career in Oakville, Ontario, where I still work today. On the side, I run a successful dog boarding business out of my home.
My tech interests include scripting, automation, penetration testing, and machine learning. While most of my life revolves around technology and all things canine, that won’t be the purpose of this site (I’ll sometimes post cute dog pictures, though!).
It is my plan to use this medium to write openly about my struggles with mental illness, addiction, relationships, and the overall human experience. While most of it is therapeutic, it is my hope that I can bring awareness about mental health issues and to help end the stigma around this often-shunned topic. I also hope that by doing so, I can help someone – even if it’s in the smallest way.
If you are are interested in reaching out about anything (I mean it, let’s chat!), feel free to browse to the “Contact” section and shoot me a message. I respond to everything as soon as I can.
